The Door in the Wall

In medieval London, young Robin expects to become a knight like his father, until an illness leaves him unable to walk. Taken in by a kind friar, Robin learns to carve, read, and swim, and discovers that there is always a "door in the wall" if you keep looking. When his castle is threatened, Robin finds his own way to be brave. A gentle, inspiring classic and winner of the Newbery Medal.
