The Christmas Stocking Murders (Frank Grasby Mysteries #2)

Christmas, 1953. Inspector Frank Grasby and Superintendent Arthur Juggers are called to the remote seaside village of Uthley Bay after a fisherman is found dead on the beach with a stocking twisted around his neck. When a blizzard cuts the village off and the locals refuse to talk, the pair must chase down clues in the snow, including why everyone in town suddenly seems to own such fine stockings. A witty, atmospheric Golden Age-style holiday whodunit from the late Scottish author Denzil Meyrick.
