Forest Under Story: Creative Inquiry in an Old-Growth Forest

At the H. J. Andrews Experimental Forest in Oregon's Cascades, right here in Lane County, scientists have studied old-growth forest for decades, and since 2003 writers have joined them through the Long-Term Ecological Reflections program. This anthology gathers essays, poems, and field notes from that program by writers including Robin Wall Kimmerer, Jane Hirshfield, Kathleen Dean Moore, Robert Michael Pyle, and Scott Russell Sanders, exploring moss-draped trees, clear-cuts, floods, fire, and what we owe to forests.
